This competition provides five classes for registered animals photographed during the current show season. Photos are judged on the best type animals.

Class 1 All NZ Senior Cow – five years and over, in-milk and classified or shown

Class 2 All NZ Intermediate Cow – three or four years old, in-milk and classified or shown

Class 3 All NZ Junior Cow – two years old, in-milk and classified or shown

Class 4 All NZ Yearling Heifer – yearling heifer born before 1 January 2023

Class 5 All NZ Calf – calf born after 1 January 2023

  1. Entry in the Holstein Friesian New Zealand – DeLaval All NZ Photo Competition can only be made by current members of Holstein Friesian New Zealand.
  2. $10.00 + GST per entry.
  3. All animals entered in the All NZ Photo Competition must be registered with Holstein Friesian New Zealand with a minimum of F12 and reside in New Zealand.
  4. All photos entered must be full colour.
  5. If printed, photos must be ‘5 x 7’ in size.
  6. All photos must be full side of the animal.
  7. Cows must be in-milk when photographed and the photograph must be taken in the current season.
  8. Photos should not reveal the identity of the leader or include any background or other matter which may disclose the animal’s identity.
  9. To enter, the current owner of the qualifying animal, as appears on database at the time of entry, must forward three copies of a good quality photograph of each animal entered, to Holstein Friesian New Zealand by 31 March 2022. Animals are to be fully identified by birth ID, registered name and owner. Both electronic and paper entries will be accepted. If a paper entry, one of these needs to be an original photo and/or if laser copies are submitted, these must be on photo quality paper for publication. If electronic entry, the photo must be in .jpg format and a minimum of 2MB – a printing fee will apply. All electronic entries must be clearly identified with the animals name and class of entry.
  10. Digital enhancements or alterations of the animal are strictly prohibited. False backgrounds will be accepted.
  11. The original photo must be made available on request for all entries in the Holstein Friesian New Zealand – DeLaval All NZ Photo Competition.
  12. All results are available for publication.
