Communications and Business Support Administrator – Fixed Term Contract – 12 months parental leave cover

Holstein Friesian NZ is New Zealand’s largest dairy cattle breed society servicing members throughout the country. The organisation is a collection of member dairy farmers with an interest in farming and breeding the Holstein Friesian cow in New Zealand. We are looking to employ a Communications and Business Services Administrator to help implement communication initiatives focused on promoting the Holstein Friesian breed to our membership and the wider NZ dairy industry as well as manage the day-to-day functioning of the office.

This key position has a blend of responsibilities as it will action some of the communication and marketing functions as well as championing admin, office and secretarial tasks required to ensure the smooth operating of the organisation and office. There will also be a strong focus on assisting various marketing activities that promote our brand and services to members, so working with our wider comms team, activating communication and marketing content on various platforms will be important. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in podcast production, from recording and editing to publishing and promoting across various platforms; along with assisting with the bi-monthly hosting of webinars. The administrative responsibilities include maintaining the database for members and animals, assisting with member enquires, preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, competitions, ordering office supplies, and assisting the General Manager and wider HFNZ team.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and friendly customer centric individual with sound knowledge of the NZ dairy industry which is essential. Some experience in administrative support roles with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and marketing tools and platforms including websites will be advantageous. A keen eye for detail, strong time management skills, a proactive and collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt are essential. A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.

This full-time (37.5 hours) fixed term position is based out of the Hamilton Office and will be for a period of 12 months as parental leave cover. It will suit someone that understands the dairy industry but enjoys an office and team environment.
