Discovery Project bulls picked up by LIC

A project designed to help provide Holstein Friesian bulls for the AB industry has reached a new milestone.

Sixty-one bulls born as a result of the Discovery Project have been bought by LIC since 2013.

Eleven bulls were recently purchased from pregnancies created in 2018 and will join the genetics company’s Sire Proving team.

They include sons of Dicksons HF Motive-ET S2F, Tennant Darkstar-OC S1F, Van Heuvens VA Remedy S1F, Bothwell WT Maxima S2F and Meander TT Asset-ET S2F.

Three heifers Tronnoco Back Suletta S2F, Meander HH April-ET S2F and Woodcote FU Laura-ET S3F each had two sons picked up.

Several of the project’s alumni, such as Meander SB Wingman-ET S3F and Tronnoco GI Spike-ET S3F, are being marketed by LIC through their Forward Pack and Premier Sires teams.

A further 33 bulls are currently awaiting their daughter proof, with progeny from the 2015 team due in the 2020/21 season.
