2020 Autumn classification applications close

April 3, 2020

Autumn classification is available in the Waikato and Canterbury areas.

To make the tours viable, they’ll be dependent on the final number of participants. If numbers don’t meet the tour threshold, these classifications will be at cost recovery.

There are multiple benefits to having your animals scored under the TOP (Traits Other Than Production) system.

They include improving sire selection and providing an objective assessment of an animal.

Fill out an application form here. Applications must be submitted by 3rd April 2020.

If you are applying for classification in 2020 and have participated in either Holstein Friesian Genetic Leaders or Discovery Project, remember you are entitled to the following discounts on your classification:

Holstein Friesian Genetic Leaders classification discount
Do you have Holstein Friesian Genetic Leaders daughters? If you classify them in the 2020 season, you’ll receive a rebate of $11.40 per heifer classified. Under the current classification pricing structure, this allows you to get almost two heifers classified for the price of one.

Discovery Project classification discount
Any two-year-old Discovery heifer (s) inspected in 2020, are entitled to a discount of 10% for one Discovery heifer and a further 5% for any subsequent Discovery heifers classified at the same time (up to a maximum 30% discount).
