Valden M Treasure-ET S3F EX – pick from four of her heifers. If the raffle winner chooses the Lornlace heifers, they can choose one of the four on offer.
The Lornlace stud is owned by Adrian and Sally Henderson who have been on their 80-hectare Putaruru farm for the past 35 years after starting out on the property sharemilking.
They have built their herd over the years and now about 95 per cent of their 230 Holstein Friesian cows are pedigree registered. The herd produced 160,000kgms last year.
Alongside the home farm they also have a 60-hectare support block where they grow maize and graze youngstock. Adrian says their aim is to breed medium sized Friesian cows, that are efficient with good udders.
One of their best cow families is the “D” family which includes Lornlace Mint Deva-ET VG87 6*ET SP, who produced a number of bulls that have gone on to be marketed by CRV.
The Cow Family
Valden M Treasure-ET S3F EX was purchased at the Valden Stud final dispersal sale in 2016. She is a cow who has always done her production easily and is easy to manage in the shed.
She gained her Excellent classification in 2018. Her first son Valden Henry Terrific (116756) was marketed by Samen (NZ) Ltd. She has had two females Lornlace Henry Treasure GP84 and Lornlace MIG Treasure VG85. In 2019 she was flushed to Maire FI Golddigger producing seven embryos which produced four heifer calves and one bull.
All four heifer calves are available for the raffle and the bull has been nominated for the Genetic Leaders programme along with her natural born bull. Both of the bulls are still under consideration.
